New York State Land Title Professionals Annual Meeting

The consititution and by-laws of the New York State Land Title Association require an annual meeting for the election of officers and such business as may properly come before the association.

The 2014 Annual Meeting and Convention is scheduled for September 14-17, 2014 at  The Grand Cascades Lodge, Crystal Springs in Hamburg, NJ.
 
 

The focus of the 2014 NYSLTA Annual Meeting is a broad and diverse examination of how title agents, underwriter corporations and affiliated title professionals in New York will be impacted by Federal and State regualtory and statutory changes.

On October 1, 2014, the title insurance industry in New York State enters a new era of professional regulation. The inauguration of this change to the Insurance Law will bring changes both large and small. On the Federal level, the CFPB is extending its reach into real estate finance and in less than one year, the TILA-RESPA disclosure integration goes into effect.

The Annual Meeting is also the time to conduct vital business of the Association. Agent Section and Title Insurance Section meetings will be held to nominate Officers for the coming Membership year and discuss other key issues. In the General Sessions we will address the election of new Officers, vote to amend the By-laws and hear a report from Bill Burding, of the ALTA Board of Governors.

Without doubt, the 2014 Annual Meeting is the premier gathering of title insurance professionals in New York State.
